Why Summer Doesn't Feel Relaxing Anymore (And What I'm Doing About It)
Share
Every year I imagine summer looking a certain way.
Slow mornings in the garden.
Books that finally get read.
Walks in the evening sunshine.
quality family time.
And every year it seems to disappear under the weight of school holidays, work, life admin, packed calendars and everyone's needs except my own.
Somewhere along the way, summer stopped feeling like a season and started feeling like another thing to manage.
When Did Rest Become Something We Earn?
Women are incredibly good at caring for other people.
We remember the birthdays.
Pack the bags.
Book the appointments.
Organise the days out.
Keep everything moving.
The problem is that many of us only allow ourselves to rest once everything else is done.
And as most women know, everything else is never done.
The Small Things Matter More Than We Think
I've realised recently that I don't need a week away to feel better.
What I need are small moments that belong to me.
Five minutes in the garden before everyone wakes up.
A walk without headphones.
A lip oil I actually like using.
A bag packed with things that make leaving the house feel easier.
A little ritual in the middle of an ordinary day.
Creating A Softer Summer
This summer I'm trying something different.
Not a complete lifestyle overhaul.
Not a perfect routine.
Just small reminders that I am allowed to enjoy the season too.
Because life doesn't have to be falling apart before we're allowed to take care of ourselves.
The Summer Reset was created with exactly that feeling in mind.
Not because another product will magically solve overwhelm.
But because sometimes a few small, beautiful things can help us pause long enough to remember ourselves again.
